Open Source Development with CVS by Karl Fogel 1999, Coriolis
CVS (Concurrent Version System) is a revision control system for source code. It is free (GPL) software, and is widely used to manage source code respositories for free software projects. Most of this book is a tutorial to CVS, which is also available on-line. Interspersed are chapters on the methods and madness of free software development: what seems to work, what pitfalls await.
