Date Nut Roll

- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. evaporated milk
- 1 tbs. butter
- 8 oz. dates, seeded and chopped
- 1 c. nuts (black walnuts or pecans), chopped
- Combine sugar, milk and butter. Cook until soft ball (230F).
Add dates and nuts. Stir.
- Let cool. Pour out on damp cloth and roll up. When firm,
unroll and cut into small pieces.
