    This areas is a blank slate. Our home environment is a collection of disparate systems and methods: HVAC, audio, video, messaging, monitoring, scheduling, authorizing, notification, entertainment, telephony, menus, chores, record keeping, bar code based inventory and shopping lists, and so on. An effort to pull all of these functions together into an interactive personalized database which could be managed from the PC, Internet, Palm Pilot, Cybiko, telephone, touch terminal on the wall or even the TV, seems to be a wide open yet attainable goal. Each of the items in the preceding lists are a discussion in their own right, trying to organize / personalize them is where I see the largest void.
