We have lots of stuff we want to get rid of. We do have weekly trash
pickups and every-other-week single stream recycling, so dispose of what
we can there (unless there is some more appropriate resource). The
following list is tailored for our needs, but may be useful to others
in and around Wichita, KS.

Sources by Category
| Appliances | - Scrap metal companies like ABC, but extra charges for freon.
- Free Local Appliance Pickup: I contacted them about microwave, but no answer.

| Batteries | - "Regular alkaline batteries can be thrown in the trash." Lithium and lead/zinc should be recycled.
- Many battery stores, like Allpak, Batteries Plus, Interstate; also auto parts stores, like Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, O'Reilly.

| Books | - "Many thrift shops and used bookstores accept books."

| Chemicals | - Sedgwick County Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 801 Stilwell: paint, aerosols, batteries, used oil, gasoline, antifreeze, pesticides, herbicides, garden chemicals, household cleaners, fluorescent bulbs, propane, unwanted medication.
- CVS and Walgreens have kiosks for unwanted medication (select locations)

| Clothing | - Goodwill (8 locations), His Helping Hands

| Computers | - American E-Waste Recyclers: 716 S Washington. "If it plugs in or takes a battery, we accept it." Various fees, like $10 for microwave. Opens to alley half block east of Washington, between Indianapolis and Gilbert. Also took a box of batteries.
- Electronix Recyclers: 2955 S Kansas. Hard to find, SE of Hydraulic/Wassall, north of Industrial Ave., no external sign. Charges for printers, monitors, microwaves.
- Starkey: 4500 W Maple.
