Bare Metal: Term for a single computer dedicated to a single tenant. The older term is dedicated server, which is increasingly divided between managed and unmanaged servers -- bare metal has become the common term for the latter, where even the most basic maintenance functions (like rebooting, or installing an operating system) can now be handled remotely through IPMI.
