Year 2005 Record Releases

The goals here is to provide an aggregate list of records released in 2005 that have some tangible value for pop music critics, such as myself. In past years I have built more limited lists based upon how much hype I've seen, but in 2004 I needed a much more comprehensive list of jazz releases, and could have used something similar for reissues. This will be as big as I need, maybe bigger. But it will not be comprehensive: with something like 30,000 releases per year that would bite off more than I can chew. But this system should be able to accommodate 3,000 or so records.

The records are divvied up into categories that more/less correspond to genres. As time goes on these will be split up into multiple files. The current files are:
